I began a new painting about a month or two ago. I haven’t been able to figure out how to finish it, but I know it isn’t nearly finished. I hung it in my front hallway so that every time I pass by I might eventually see something in it. It hangs next to the coat rack and front window and every so often tree-like, coat rack shadows get cast onto the canvas that make me want to do a mad dash for the acrylics and splatter up the hallway right then and there.
I’ve got a name for it, but I don’t want to actually name it until it’s finished. …which it isn’t.

December 5, 2008 at 11:53 amI look at this painting and I think it is done. It invites me to want to come in and explore the hidden treasures. It keeps me looking and looking to find something that is possibly unobtainable, but not wanting to give up on the search.
